Garza’s Walkoff Gives East View The Victory Over Elgin

East View Elgin 5-4 on Tuesday thanks to a walk-off single. The game was tied at four with East View batting in the bottom of the ninth when Ian Garza singled off of Jace Grady, driving in one run.

Elgin captured the lead in the first inning. An error scored two runs for Elgin.

East View knotted the game up at four in the bottom of the sixth inning. Mason Tyndall singled on a 1-0 count in the sixth inning, scoring one run.

Cameron Nowell earned the win for The Patriots. He went one and two-thirds innings, allowing zero runs, zero hits, and walking one. Jace Grady took the loss for Elgin. He threw two and a third innings, allowing one run, four hits, and walking one.

Chase Cutler started the game for East View. He pitched five and two-thirds innings, surrendering four runs, four hits, and striking out five. Jacob Trantham started the game for Elgin. He threw six innings, giving up four runs, eight hits, and striking out six.

The Patriots collected 12 hits. Tyndall, Dalton Westbrook, and Ian Garza each collected multiple hits for East View. Westbrook went 2-for-4 at the plate as he led the team with two runs batted in.
