Late Score Costs East View Patriots Varsity Against Bastrop

East View lost the lead late in a 4-1 defeat to Bastrop on Friday. The game was tied at one with Bastrop batting in the bottom of the fifth when there was an error, scoring one run.
Bastrop took an early lead in the first inning. With one out in the first inning Frost drove in one run when he doubled.

In the top of the fourth inning, East View tied things up at one. Ian Garza singled on a 3-2 count in the fourth inning, scoring one run.

Vinklarek earned the win for Bastrop. He threw seven innings, surrendering one run, six hits, and striking out three. Aaron Parks took the loss for East View. He tossed five and a third innings, giving up four runs, five hits, striking out seven, and walking zero.

Garza led East View with one run batted in. He went 1-for-2 on the day.

Bastrop was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Lopez had the most chances in the field with nine.
