Parks Throws Shutout As East View Defeats Cedar Creek

Aaron Parks didn’t allow a single run as East View defeated Cedar Creek 8-0 on Saturday. Parks allowed just five hits.

East View grabbed an early lead. The Patriots took the lead on a single in the second inning. Stefon Reyes singled on the first pitch of the at bat in the second inning, scoring one run. East View scored four runs in the sixth inning. The Patriots scored on a stolen base by Chase Cutler and a single by Ian Garza.

One bright spot for Cedar Creek was a single by Phillip Figueroa in the first inning.

Aaron Parks earned the win for East View tossing seven innings, allowing zero runs, five hits, striking out seven, and walking zero. Lino De La Garza took the loss for Cedar Creek. He threw four innings, allowing three runs, four hits, and striking out three.

East View had eight hits in the game. Dalton Westbrook and Jonathan Ortegon each collected multiple hits for the Patriots. Ortegon and Westbrook each managed two hits to lead East View.   East View East didn’t commit a single error in the field. Ryan Bailey had eight chances in the field, the most on the team.

Hector Zertuche led Cedar Creek with two hits in three at bats.
