Patriots Fall To Elgin On Walkoff

A walk-off left East View Patriots Varsity on the wrong end of a 7-6 defeat to Elgin on Friday. The game was tied at six with Elgin batting in the bottom of the seventh when Jackson Meads doubled off of Aaron Parks, driving in one run.

East View Patriots Varsity lost despite out-hitting Elgin 12 to seven.

East View Patriots Varsity took an early lead in the first inning. With one out in the first inning Dalton Westbrook drove in three runs when he homered.

East View Patriots Varsity knotted the game up at six in the top of the sixth inning. East View Patriots Varsity scored one run when Cameron Nowell singled with two outs in the sixth inning.
Jacob Harkins earned the win for Elgin. He threw one and one-third innings, allowing zero runs, two hits, striking out two, and walking zero. Aaron Parks took the loss for East View Patriots Varsity. He pitched six and a third innings, allowing seven runs, seven hits, striking out four, and walking one.

Dontae Woodard started the game for Elgin. He tossed five and two-thirds innings, giving up six runs, ten hits, and striking out eight.

East View Patriots Varsity had 12 hits in the game. Nowell, Westbrook, Stefon Reyes, and Parker Namken each collected multiple hits for East View Patriots Varsity. Nowell led East View Patriots Varsity with three hits in four at bats.

Jace Grady went 4-for-4 at the plate to lead Elgin in hits.
